So...I'm starting to (tentatively) plan out my summer. Europe will be tough because of the horrendous exchange rate, so I'm looking elsewhere. This is hopefully what I'll be doing.

May 25th - Come home from school
May 29th - June 11th - Bike through Israel with Brit and Taylor

(Israel)

~June 18th - ~July 2nd - Papua New Guinea (or some other remote place) with my mom and possibly brother

(Papua New Guinea)

July 10th - August 2nd - Stay in Beijing with Rose for a bit, take the TransSiberian Railroad across Russia for 5 days, arrive in Moscow, and spend time there and St. Petersberg.

(Beijing)

(Trans Siberian Railroad train route)

(A view from the Trans Siberian Railroad in Mongolia)

(Moscow)                                                               (St. Petersburg)

I feel like I'm in National Geographic or something. Awesome.

On a side note, I'm (definitely) going to the US and British Virgin Islands for spring break with Brit.
This is nuts.

On a completely different subject, I'm training to do Hamilton's Triathlon, HamTrek. It's a short one (525yd swim, 9mi bike, 3.1mi run), but I did the whole distance today and am very proud of myself (although I feel like I want to pass out/vom).

I think that's all the news for now. Over and out.

I thought I'd post my new wallpaper. It's pretty much the 12 pictures from college that make me the happiest or laugh the hardest.

new back copy

From L to R, top to bottom: 1) In Belize, 2) Mel being kidnapped on the bridge by Mica, 3) Jacob and Steve on the field after the girls lax game, 4) Ann next to bulldozer as she's ready to play rugby,
5) Pat in his "Freedom isn't Free" outfit with Steve and I, 6) Jane and Deanne rocking out in my room with Otis, 7) Brit and I, 8) Patrick clutching the Whole Lesbian Sex Book,
9) Patrick and I rocking out on air guitar, 10) Sarah and I on her birthday with the PRabs cake, 11) Me Patrick Brit and I sunburned on alumni weekend, and 12) Rose stealing money from me as I look like a prostitute at the gamma formal.

So instead of finding a real job that would pay me real money and give me true-life experience, I'm instead backpacking in Europe this summer. I'm toying with itinerary ideas right now (because who wants to study for finals?), and I've come up with a few main ideas, although they're all subject to change.

Fly in to Barcelona
Take a train to Pamploma
Stay in Pamploma/See the Running of the Bulls in Pamploma (It runs July 6th-July 14th)
Take a train back to Barcelona
Stay in Barcelona
Take a train to Nice
Stay in Nice/Catch the Tour de France as it goes nearby Nice (It lasts from July 5-July 27th)
Take a train to Zurich
Stay in Zurich
Take a train to Paris
Stay in Paris/Possibly catch the end of the Tour de France (although that would be a shitshow- it ends on the 27th)
Take a train to Brussels
Stay in Brussels/sample the world's best chocolate and beer
Take a train to Amsterdam
Stay in Amsterdam/Go to one of the world's largest gay pride parades (Runs August 1st-3rd)

We'll see how it looks. It's all based on theory right now, so I have to talk to people and work out the kinks. A rough draft maybe? I also have to see if someone can come with me...Tracy said she might be interested, but I'm not sure if she knows what she's getting herself into

In the past week, I have dressed up as an 80's aerobics instructor, a cat burglar, and in a plaid toga.

It's been a crazy few weeks.

Oh, and I also broke my foot playing rugby.

My psych professor, Kelly, of my Marriage and Family class has been bringing her two young children to Hamilton because Elementary School starts a week after we do. Jake and Emmy are 10 and 8 respectively, and hang out in the room during class.

During a warm up name-game on the first day, we went around the room and gave our names, and decide who and what we would bring should we ever be deserted on a desert island. When it came to me, I said my name and that I'd bring my girlfriend and a rugby ball. Emmy suddenly looked concerned and tugged on Kelly's shirt. Kelly leaned down and allowed Emmy to whisper something in her ear. My professor looked at Emmy and said, "well, why don't you ask her?"

Emmy turned to me sheepishly and asked, "what's rugby?"
